Boldness has Genius, Power and Magic in it
While preparing for my new pet project (not really “new” but my first real try…) which will require a great deal of positive thinking, time, and effort, I went over my collection of quotable quotes to look for something that will inspire me should I encounter some stops and pull overs during the creation process (Yep, I’ll definitely be checking this entry every now and then for encouragement). And the winner is:
What you can do, or dream you can do, begin it;
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
The quote is supposed to be from Goethe, but there have been some debates on its origin. Anyhow, I like this part:
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back — Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
Yosh! Carpe Diem! God help me. *bow*
For more inspiration, I suggest you read “The Secret“. I encountered this sometime 2006-2007 from my friend Jehan (movie siya, pinapapanood niya online, I never had the time…), was recommended by our GM early this year during one of our meetings, and I just found out my sister Anne has a copy of it sometime June 20s this year. I immediately started reading the book as soon as I got hold of it. I still haven’t finished reading it up to now, but I do carry it around in the hopes that I’ll have time to continue going through the pages. Nevertheless, the first few pages are already enough to keep you “Bold”. Aja!
